How to get a beautiful stitch
A clear photo of a simple drawing is all we need — these few things make the difference between something we can stitch beautifully and something we can't.
Bold marker, white paper
Thick strokes on a clean page — skip light pen or pencil.
Keep it simple
A few words and three colors or fewer stitch best.
Shoot it flat, in daylight
On a solid sheet of paper — white preferred. Straight overhead, near a window, no shadow.
High-res PNG or JPEG
Your phone's largest setting — the sharper the truer.
Minimum 1200 × 720 px
Saved as PNG or JPEG
See what makes a great photo
Size & format — minimum 1200 × 720 px for hats, or 1200 × 1200 px for most apparel. Saved as PNG or JPEG.
A note on color — each shade in your drawing is matched to the closest available embroidery thread, so colors may be adjusted slightly so your piece stitches beautifully.
